Grobud - History of the company

Beginning of activities

GROBUD was founded in 1972. The company was founded by Mr Maciej Mańkowski, one of its present-day co-owners. The beginnings of the company’s activities were related to the conduct of general construction services. During that period, we employed about 40 people and were a major plant in Grodzisk Wielkopolski and the surrounding area.

Windows sale

In 1991 GROBUD started commercial operations as a wholesale of building materials. On the wide offer you could find a large variety of building materials.
In 1996, Mr. Paweł Mańkowski began the PVC windows and doors sale. The further development of the company and the high demand for the window joinery contributed to the opening of new windows sales outlets in Grodzisk Wielkopolski and Poznań.

Opening of production

The year 2000 is another milestone in the history of GROBUD – this year we started the production of PVC joinery in the system of Aluplast profiles. Modern machinery park and a young, vibrant and experienced team enabled us to produce modern, durable windows and doors from PVC. Huge market demand for solid windows was a motivator to buy a second, new technological line for production of window joinery.

Management Board

Due to the high dynamics of development, in 2002 Grobud was transformed into a limited liability company. At the same time the Management Board was established and its members were Mr. Maciej Mańkowski – President, Mr. Paweł Mańkowski – Vice-President of the Board and Mr. Mateusz Mańkowski – Chief Product Officer.

New head office

In 2005 we began the construction of the company’s new head office. In 2006 production was moved to the newly opened, modern and impressive head office in Grodzisk Wielkopolski, ul. Fabryczna 10.
The year 2009 brought another investment in our growth – we built and launched a production hall for windows, doors and aluminium constructions.

Innovativeness

Following the modern trends in the construction industry, we made further investments in early 2015. GROBUD purchased a modern production line dedicated to the manufacture of windows for passive buildings. GROBUD windows have the Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Feist certificate issued by the Passivhaus Institut in Darmstadt which is recognized worldwide and ensures the quality.
